For good mountain photography I believe you have to grind a difference in altitude, get off the beaten track, become a friend of the cold and not be afraid of the night. I like to call it Photoalp. I leave to others the classic photos, the views seen and reviewed, the postcards, the shots taken from the car window, I’m not interested in. The like race isn’t one of my favorite sports.
I don’t think you need to get to Iceland to take good pictures. I’m lucky to live in Le Marche region, the Monti Sibillini National Park is my home, certainly here there is no lack of beautiful landscapes and legendary peaks but it takes careful eyes to find always original views.
